Introduction
M/s. Durga Minerals propose to conduct Semi mechanized opencast method mining for
Laterite production in an area of 4.28 ha in Survey No. 3834, 3837, 3838, 3839, 3840, 3875
& 3876, Ramachandrapuram Village, Mulugu Mandal, Jayashankar District, Telangana State.
In principle of quarry lease notice issued by Department of Mines and Geology, Government
of Telangana vide notice no. 12754/R1-1/2015 dated 25.02.2017. Quarrying plan was
scrutinized by Deputy Director of Mines and Geology, Warangal Vide Letter No. 1764/QP-
3/WGL/17 dated 24.05.2017. Laterite production of 308632 tons/annum. Capital cost
proposed for the mining will be approximately Rs. 43 Lakhs.
Mine Location
M/s. Durga Minerals propose to conduct other than Semi mechanized open cast method
mining for Laterite production in an area of 4.28 ha in Survey No. 3834, 3837, 3838, 3839,
3840, 3875 & 3876, Ramachandrapuram Village, Mulugu Mandal, Jayashankar District,
Telangana State. The mine lease area falls in the Survey of India topo sheet no. 56 N/16 with
the co-ordinates of Latitude 18°06'53.0"N and Longitude 79°53'22.10"E with an elevation of
280m. The nearest village is Ramachandrapuram located at a distance of 2.3 Km from the
ML area in East direction. Ramachandrapuram to Narasimhareddypalli village road is
passing at a distance of 0.2km in South direction. National highway road (NH-202) is
Warangal and Eturnagaram village at a distance of 3.8 Km from the ML area in West
direction. Nearest town is Warangal at a distance of 30 km from the lease area in SW
direction. Railway station is Chintalpalli located at a distance of 29 Km from the ML area in
Southwest direction. Narasampet Pakhal reserve forest is at a distance of 7.0 km from the
ML area in Southeast direction. Jakaram No. 2 reserve forest is at a distance of 3.9 km from
the ML area in Northeast direction. Jakaram No.1 reserve forest is at a distance of 2.7 km
from the ML area in Northwest direction. Morancha Branch (Kakatiya Canal) is flowing at a
distance of 2.0 km from the ML area in SW direction. There are no national parks,
wildlife/bird sanctuaries observed in 10km radius from the mine lease area. Details of the
mine lease area are presented in table A-1.

Mining Method
Semi mechanised opencast method operations are planned to be carried out partly
manually and partly by deploying machinery that poclain is to be deployed for removal.
Laterite production will be obtained by opencast mining exposed single bench height is 6m
each. A safe slope angle will be maintained throughout the mining operator. Apart from this
mechanization is required for this mining.
Year Wise Development & Production:
1st Year: It is proposed to raise about 135728 tons of Laterite in the first year with 300
working days from this area. In this one bench proposed for along the section X-X' and
bench height is 6m and width is 7.5m. In the year waste material of 7144 tons will be
obtained by advancing the bench from West to East.
2nd Year: It is proposed to raise about 112894 tons of Laterite in the 2nd year with 300
working days from this area and proposed a single bench towards west side along section X-
X' and bench height is 6m and width is 7.5m. In the year waste material of 5942 tons will be
obtained by working towards east.
3rd Year: It is proposed to raise about 113476 tons of Laterite in the 3rd year with 300
working days from this area and proposed a single bench towards west to east side along
section X-X' and bench height is 6m and width is 7.5m in below second year working. In the
year waste material of 5972 tons will be obtained.

4th Year: It is proposed to raise about 308632 tons of Laterite in the 4th year with 300
working days from this area and proposed a single bench towards east to west side along
section X-X' and bench height is 6m and width is 7.5m in below three year working area. In
the year waste material of 16244 tons will be obtained.
5th Year: It is proposed to raise about 258586 tons of Laterite in the 5th year with 300
working days from this area and proposed a single bench towards west to east side along
section X-X' and bench height is 6m and width is 7.5m in below three year working area. In
this year waste material of 13610 tons will be obtained. During the plan period total
recovery 95% of production 929317 Tons of Laterite and remaining 5% is 48911 Tons of
waste mineral will be available. Year wise production and waste generation details are
presented in table A-2.

Water Requirement
Water requirement for the project is mainly for Domestic source, maintaining the green belt
and also for sprinkling on the haulage roads to mitigate dust emissions. The water shall be
drawn from nearby villages. The water requirement of the project is presented in Table A-3.

Solid Waste
During the plan period total recovery 95% of production 929317 Tons of Laterite and
remaining 5% is 48911 Tons of waste mineral will be available.
Dump Area
The waste generated will be dumped in the west side of the mining lease area covering an
area of 2800 m2. Construction of retaining wall for waste dump in slope side and garland
drains in the mine lease area.
