DESCRIPTION
What began as a simple collaborative idea between Clutter and Kidrobot to allow artists to work live on stage at the 2014 New York Comic Con, grew into something so much greater. On January 10th 2015, The Clutter Gallery opened its doors to an incredible month long exhibit of customized 20” and 8” Dunnys, crafted by some of the industry’s most established and emerging artists. The uniqueness and explosive talent that was unleashed in this exhibit was so extraordinary that Kidrobot and Clutter have agreed to host this show as a yearly ongoing tradition.

The partnership between the Designer Toy Awards and Kidrobot began in 2013, when together they announced the production of a piece designed by the winner of the coveted Break-through Artist award. But not just any art toy was in the offering, but the chance for these lauded newcomers to work upon Kidrobot’s premiere platform, the Dunny.
This seed gestated and blossomed into a collaborative concept the following year, a 20” Dunny live painting event at the 2014 New York Comic Con. Which, in turn, grew into something even greater.
On January 10th 2015, The Clutter Gallery opened its doors to an incredible month long exhibit of customized 20” and 8” Dunnys, crafted by some of the industry’s most established and emerging artists. An event to benefit the Designer Toy Awards, this DTA Dunny Show was so extraordinary that the Designer Toy Awards, Kidrobot, and The Clutter Gallery couldn’t resist making it an annual tradition.
As we look forward toward this showcase’s sophomore outing, it is impossible to forget the uniqueness and explosive talent that made the endeavor’s debut exhibition so special.
