Process

Student Requests Letters To Professors (LTP’s)Initial request

Occurs when the student meets for the first time with a DSS student advisor

Subsequent requestsMay occur anytime after the initial request, via the DSS

websiteLetters are emailed to the student’s UofS email account;

student is encouraged to hand deliver the letter to her professor(s)

Student Request Notetaking Service For ClassesMade when the student requests LTP’s List of requested courses are displayed to

administrator who then makes announcements, using PAWS announcement feature, to all students registered in those specific course(s)

Students are then matched with a volunteer Notetaker who is taking the same course

Notetaking ServicePotential notetakers respond to the DSS

announcement and an initial meeting is arranged to sign-up the student notetaker

Each notetaker is then matched with a student or students, requiring notes in the class the notetaker has agreed to take notes for

Notetakers photocopy and deliver their handwritten notes through the Copy Centre, using a 4-digit ID #; DSS students then pickup the photocopied notes without meeting the student who is providing their notes

Student Requests Exam Accommodation(s)Student logs in to a web form and is asked to chose

if she wants to make an exam accommodation for a final or non final exam

Student is presented with a list of courses that she can make an exam accommodation for

After choosing the course she requires accommodations for, she is able to complete her request

Student can visit the same web form at a later time to find out the status of her exam accommodation

Exam Accommodation ServiceRuns report that lists submitted exam accommodationsWorking from that report, edits each exam record -

adjusting the status of the exam and other required information
