Expectations for faculty productivity are related to the rank of
institute
Provide insight how many articles in top journals are required
to get promoted in top 70 institutes
Promotion not only related to publication in top journals but
also to quality of publication, scholarly impact, teaching qualityand national reputation
Authors publish outside leading marketing journals also this is
also considered while promotion

Principle of Superstars : On an average, a few scholars
publish much more than all scholars (.8 vs. .184)
Top 50 scholars (2.21%) = At least 15 articles
Remaining 2622 Scholars(97.79%) = 2. 50 article
Remaining 78% of these = 1-3 articles

Differences existed between top 10 and top 11-
20 institutes
Gender had no effect on rate of publicity, in
contrast with hard sciences
