WhatisaWebsiteMonitor?A“WebsiteMonitor”allowswebsiteownerstotracktheuptimeoftheirwebsites.Theserviceprovidesinstantalertstowebsiteowners(orsupportstaff)whentheironlinedatasufferscatastrophiceventslikewebsiteoutage,serviceunavailabilityandmore.Withimmediatenoticeofwebsiteproblems,itispossibletofixthembeforeirreparabledamageisdonetothewebsite,businessandreputation.

Thisnewtoolwillcomplementtheexistingwebsite/databasebackupwithalertswhentheuser'sclouddataiscompromised.Ownerscanchoosetoreceivefreeemailnotifications.

• HowtoMonitorWebsiteAvailabilityWeallowyoutomonitortheuptimeofyourwebsiteandnotifyyouviaemailintheeventofaserverornetworkoutage.Youcanmonitortheavailabilityofyourwebsitefromanywherethroughtheweboronmobile.

• HowtoGenerateWebsitePerformanceReportsApartfromcheckingtheavailabilityofyourwebsite,Dropmysitealsomonitorsyourwebsite’sperformanceandprovidesyouwithperformancedataforeachregion.Usingthewebsitemonitor,youcananalyzeyoursite'slatencyfromdifferentregionsaroundtheworldandcomparethem.YoucanalsousethemtotestifyourCloudDeliverynetworkisperformingthesameacrossmultipleregions.

Oursolutionletsyouanalyzetheresponsetime(inmsecs)ofyourwebsitefromaroundtheworldandalsoviewthemgraphicallyonachart.

YoucanmonitortheperformanceofeitheraGET,POSToraHEADrequest.Reportsaregeneratedautomatically.PleasenotethatyoucanconfiguredifferentHTTPmethods(GET,POSToraHEAD)forthesamewebsitetotrackthespeedanduptime.

Howtoaddawebsiteformonitoring?Log-intoyourbackupdashboardfromyourCPanel.

Onceloggedintoyouraccount,clickonthe“AddMonitor”buttononthetoprightcornerofthescreenandyouwillbetakentothescreenbelow.

1. EnterthewebsiteURLyouwanttomonitor.2. ChoosetheHTTPMethodfromHEAD,POSTandGET.3. ChoosetheUseragent.YoucanusethedefaultofMonitororfromalistofmultiplebrowser

andOScombinationsavailable.4. Addtheoptionalheaderwiththekeyandthevalue.Youhavetheoptiontoentermultiple

headers.5. Ifyouareusingapasswordprotectedwebsite,youcanclickontheBasicHTTPAuthentication

checkboxandentertheusernameandpassword.6. NowclickonNext.

Wewilldoaquickconnectiontoyourwebsitetoensureitisupandrunningbeforeallowingyoutoconfigureyourmonitorasshownbelow.

7. Youcansetthetimeout,thefrequencyatwhichthemonitorshouldtestyourwebsiteandthenumberoffailuresbeforewhichweshouldalertyou.

8. Youcanalsochoosetheregionsfromwhereyouwantthemonitortotestthesystemandsetmultipleemailaddressestowhomthealertshouldbesent.Onceyouhaveconfiguredthis,clickonNext.

9. Youwillbetakentothescreenbelowtoverifyyoursettingsandgiveanametotheprofile.Onceyouaredone,clickonSaveandyourwebsitemonitorwillnowstart.

5. Youcansetthetimeout,thefrequencyatwhichthemonitorshouldtestyourwebsiteandthenumberoffailuresbeforewhichweshouldalertyou.

6. Youcanalsochoosetheregionsfromwhereyouwantthemonitortotestthesystemandsetmultipleemailaddressestowhomthealertshouldbesent.Onceyouhaveconfiguredthis,clickonNext.

7. Youwillbetakentothescreenbelowtoverifyyoursettingsandgiveanametotheprofile.Onceyouaredone,clickonSaveandyourwebsitemonitorwillnowstart.

4. Youcanstartthemonitoragainbyclickingonthesamebuttonwhichnowshowsasthe“StartMonitor”button.

HowdoIdeleteapreviouslysetwebsitemonitor?1. Log-intoyourbackupdashboardfromyourCPanel.2. Clickonthe“DeleteWebsite”buttonbesidethemonitorwhichyouwanttodelete.

Onceyouclickonthebutton,youwillbeaskedtoconfirmthedeletionofthemonitorbyclickingonYes.

3. OnceyouclickonYes,yourwebsitemonitorwillbedeletedandyouwillbetakentothedashboard.

4. Pleaserememberthatonceyoudeletethemonitor,alltheperformancedataislost.Ifyouwanttoretainthedata,itsbetteryoupausethemonitorinsteadofdeletingit.

Apartfromcheckingtheavailabilityofyourwebsite,wealsomonitoryourwebsite’sperformanceandprovideyouwiththeperformancedataforeachregion.

UsingWebsiteMonitor,youcananalyzeyoursite'slatencyfromdifferentregionsaroundtheworldandcomparethem.YoucanalsousethemtotestifyourCloudDeliverynetworkisperformingthesameacrossmultipleregions.

Onceyouaddawebsitemonitor,weautomaticallymonitoryoursite’sperformancewhilewemonitorthewebsite.

HowdoIviewmywebsiteperformancechart?Youcanviewthewebsiteperformancechartofeachofthewebsitemonitorbyclickingonthe“Graphs”besidetherespectivewebsitemonitoronthedashboard.

Youwillthenbetakentotheperformancepagewhereyoucanviewthechartsofthewebsite'sperformanceindifferentregions.

YouwillthenbetakentotheWebsiteMonitorResultspagewhereyoucanviewthedataofthewebsite'sperformanceindifferentregions.

Youcanusetheregionfilteroptiontoviewthedataofaparticularregion.

Thedatashownincludes:

• Date–Thedateofwhichtheresultisshown.

• Minimum–Theminimumresponsetimefortheday.

• Maximum–Themaximumresponsetimefortheday.

• Average–Thearithmeticaverageresponsetimefortheday.

• Tests–Thenumberoftestsperformedthroughouttheday.

• Failures–Thenumberoftimesthemonitorfailed.

• Uptime–Apercentageofthenumberofsuccessfultriesoverthenumberoftests.
