Missouri State Fleet Efficiency andAlternative Fuel Program

Division of Energy

August 2013

• To reduce total consumption of motor fuel by state government resulting in a corresponding decline in expenditures.

• To evaluate environmental and economic effects of using alternative transportation fuels.

Program Objectives:

Fuel Conservation for State Vehicles Objectives

• To increase the number of alternative fuel vehicles in state fleets.

• To use alternative fuel in alternative fuel vehicles.

Fleet Efficiency

• Must purchase CAFE compliant passenger cars and light trucks.

• Must meet or exceed the fuel efficiency that would be achieved if each vehicle met CAFE requirements.

AFV Parameters

• 70% percent of all newly acquired eligible vehicles are AFVs.

• 30% percent alternative fuel use of total fuel use in AFVs.
