WHAT MEANS BULLYING? Bullying is when one or more
persons, repeatedly and on
purpose, say and do hurtful things
to another person who has
difficulty defending himself.
Bullying is the use of force, threat,
or coercion to abuse, intimidate,
or aggressively dominate others.
Bullying can happen anywhere: at
school, at home or online.

HISTORICAL NOTES ON BULLYING The word “bully” made its first
appearance in 1530: it meant
“sweetheart”.
The word’s meaning changed
drastically during the 17th
century.
In 1983 a Norvegian psychology
professor was the first to define
the phenomemon of bullying.

BULLYING PERCENTAGE International surveys have shown
that around 15% of students have
been victims of bullying from
classmates.
Over half 56% of students have
witnessed bullying at school.
The percentage of children who
are perceived bullies is estimated
at 50%.

TYPES OF BULLYING
There are four types of bullying:
1. Physical bullying: using tha
body to hurt another person
with hits, slaps or punching.

2. Verbal bullying: using
negative words to insult
another person and putting it
down. Verbal attack is the
most common form of
bullying.

3. Social bullying: leaving
someone out of people
goups or activities.

electronic comunication to
bully a person, typically by
sending intimidatory
messages.

BULLYING IS AN HORRIBLE THING: TOGETHER WE CAN STOP IT!
A lot of children suffer because
they are bullied by other guys, but
we can stop bullying.
We can help children who have
been bullied.
Say all together “STOP” to
bullying!

WAYS TO STOP BULLYING
There are some ways to stop
bullying:
Do not ignore bullying when
you see it.
Be an example and dont’t do
bullying
Ask for help to an adult
(parents, teachers etc.) or to
police.
