DIGITAL ACCESSIONING

ALEXIS ANTRACOLI, RECORDS MANAGEMENT ARCHIVIST, DREXEL UNIVERSITY ARCHIVES AND SPECIAL COLLECTIONS

FEBRUARY 28, 2013

1. Write Protect

2. Take photograph if applicable

3. Virus Scan

4. Run a Treesize scan and copy inventory of file types to AT

5. Transfer with Duke Data Accessioner

6. Create Metadata folder

7. Save file manifest, Virus Scan, and photograph to metadata folder

TRANSFER

1. Remove media and store with original accession if applicable

2. Permanently delete any files transferred to desktop during accession

3. Copy entire accession folder to RAID array for additional backup

4. Finish filling out accession record in AT

POST TRANSFER
