I do like to be beside the seaside
July 30, Aug 6,13th and 20. 12 – 4pm. FREE
Dewsbury Museum
Who needs to go to the seaside when the seaside can
come to you in the shape of fun craft activities. Over
the summer, Dewsbury Museum is holding four weekly
craft sessions, each with a different theme to make sure
children can enjoy all of the fun of the seaside at home.
Starting on July 30 (day 1 of 4) with making rock pools
from recycled materials and filling them with handmade
shells and sea creatures.
On August 6, children can design and decorate a
swimming costume or trunks and on August 13, they will
be able to make their own cardboard flip-flops, decorated
with their own designs.
No trip to the seaside is complete without an ice cream,
so on August 20 youngsters will be able to colour and
decorate a paper cone to create their fantasy ice cream.
The sessions are free and there is no need to book. The
activities are suitable for all ages; children must be
accompanied by an adult.
