The objective of this guidebook is to help you plan your
participation at the Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF), taking place
at the Ritz-Carlton in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 4-5 February 2020.
Foreign nationals visiting Saudi Arabia must obtain an entry visa prior to traveling.
If you have a valid Saudi visa and have not shared it with the GCF Team, please send a scanned
copy to registration@globalcybersecurityforum.com.
E-VISA
The e-Visa application has been designed to provide all visitors the possibility to experience an
online and time efficient process to obtain a visa without visiting a local Embassy/Consulate.
It will be necessary to have a valid passport (with at least six months remaining from the date
of entry), a credit or debit card to pay the visa fee, and an email address to receive the e-Visa
for Saudi Arabia.
You will need to enter your contact details, travel plans, and passport details, as well as answer
some security-related questions. You will need to meet some basic requirements and must
ensure that you answer every section of the application form as accurately as possible.
Once the application form has been submitted and processed, the Saudi e-Visa will be sent to
you by email. You will need to present the e-Visa, along with your passport, upon arrival in Saudi
Arabia.

KING KHALID INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
LOCAL TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
Located 35 kilometers north of Riyadh, King Khalid International Airport is the main
gateway to the Saudi capital. Around 40 international airlines connect Saudi Arabia
to American, European, Asian and African cities, making it easily accessible for
international travelers.
The airport features local mobile network providers for ease of local and international
connectivity during your stay in Riyadh. The three leading service providers in Saudi
Arabia are based at the airport: STC, Mobily and Zain.

Mobile app based service providers, such as Uber and Careem, are convenient,
frequently used services with access to Riyadh airport.
You may also contact the hotel where you will be accommodated to coordinate
airport transfers.
We recommend that you book your stay at the Courtyard By Marriott Diplomatic Quarter to
benefit from preferred rates available for limited GCF guests. Preferred rates are available on a
first-come, first-served basis.

OPENING HOURS
You can collect your badge from the Badge Collection Center located at the Ritz-Carlton To
collect your badge, you must have a copy of your ID document and a QR code that is attached
in the final confirmation email.

If you would like to designate a representative to collect your badge, that person must
present your final confirmation email and QR Code and sign a liability form at the Badge
Collection Center.
Please note that you will need to have your event badge displayed at all times while on-site
at the forum venue.

GCF VENUE
The Global Cybersecurity Forum (GCF) will take place at the Ritz-Carlton.
Address: AlHada Area, Mekkah Road Riyadh, 11493 Saudi Arabia
Lunches will be served at the Ritz-Carlton for the duration of GCF.
Dedicated prayer rooms for men and women can be found at the Ritz-Carlton.
Arabic, English, and French will be the primary languages for
simultaneous translation during the various plenaries. Workshops will be
in English and Arabic.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided on-site.
For women and men: Business casual attire is expected for the duration of
the official GCF sessions, while long trousers and shirts are customary in
public outside the GCF premises.
However, in public places, it is advisable that women wear an abaya, which is
a long robe that cover most of the body.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Riyadh is 3 hours ahead of GMT. (GMT+3)
Riyadh has a dry desert climate with occasional rain in the winter months.
Temperatures in February are expected to be 24°C (75°F). The nighttime
temperature averages 11°C (52°F)
The Saudi Riyal is the currency in Saudi Arabia. It is abbreviated as س.ر or SAR.
Exchange centers are available at the King Khalid International Airport and
throughout the city. ATMs are widely available in Riyadh, and you can withdraw both
dollars and Saudi Riyals from the Airport ATM machines.
At present, the exchange rate is 1 SAR = 0.27 USD / 1 USD = 3.75 SAR.
Saudi Arabia currently provides electricity at 220/127 volts AC. British-style square
three-pin plugs are used.
International roaming agreements exist with some mobile phone companies. Hotels
will include access to a landline, but local and international calls can be much more
expensive than calls placed on a cellular line. We suggest you check with your
mobile carrier before traveling.
