ToughnessinHockey,intheclassroomandinLife.Thisweekend,ourSquirtAteamplayedWestPointattheacademy.Wewon6-2,soanicewinbutgottospendanhourwiththeArmyLacrosseCoachtouringtheirfacility. Hespokeabout"toughness"whichheexplainedmeansgiving100%effort,100%oftheTme.Notjustforscrimmagesorduringgames,butduringthedrillsthatyoudon'tlikeorwhenthecoachisontheotherendice.Healsobroadenedthisouttotheclassroomandacademics,aswellasinlife.WehaveavideoofthetalkthankstosomequickthinkingparentsandthelinkisavailableonourFacebookpage.Wellworthwatchingandsharingwithyourkids.

CoachesCornerv MiteA-TheMiteAteamhasbeentrainingveryhardduringourweeklypracTcesandseeingposiTveresultsontheweekendsduringcompeTTon.Withonly1returningMiteAplayerfromlastyear,ouryoungteamiscertainlyexperiencingsomegrowingpains but progressing nicely this early in the season.We look forward toDecember and beyond for conTnued improvementindividuallyandcollecTvely.

v MiteB-TheMitesBteambegantheseasonwithmostlyfirstyearplayers.TheirskaTng,sTckhandling,passingandshooTnghasimprovedtremendouslyduringthefirst2months.WehadourfirstconvincingwinoverNewRochelle,with7differentgoalscorers.Theyareplayinggreathockeytogether,andstrivingtoimprovemoreeverypracTce/game.

v SquirtA-TheSquirtAteamiscomingintotheirown. Theydefinewhatitistobea‘Team’. Theteamhasbeenbondingonandoffthe ice. Oursecondyearsquirtshaveshowngreat leadership. Ourfirstyearsquirtshavereallybought inandhavesteppedupandlearnedthefullicegamereallyquickly. Theirleadership,learningandunselfishplayhasreallypaidoffsofar.Theyarecurrently3-0intheleagueand11-6-1overall.

v SquirtB-Tothispoint ithasbeenagreatseason.Weare3-0inourleaguegamesandsiknginsecondplaceintheleaguebehindMamaroneckwhowejustbeat3-2inanon-leaguegamelastnight(12-1-2018).Ourcoachescouldnotbemoreproud,ofhow our Team has come together, andwork sowell as a Team. Every player is gekng beDer by theweek and are lookingforwardtoacompeTTverestoftheseason.

v Pee-Wee B - The peewee B team welcomed seven new players to the Plainsmen’s organizaTon this year. The HauntedShootoutinMAinOctoberprovedtobeagreatteambondingexperienceastheteamwent1-1-1andadvancedtotheplayoffsonSunday. TheteamisworkinghardinpracTceandiscurrently3-2-1inleagueplayandlookingforwardtochallengingforaplayoffspot.

v 16U-Theteamis currentlyin2ndplacetrailingthe1stplaceteamby3pointsbutwehave Played3lessgamesthanthem.Wehavealsooutscored themtodateby31goals.Wehaveclinchedaspot in thestate tournamentand ifwin2ofof last4gamesweshouldhavethenumberoneseed.Whenthingsare"clicking"withthisteamtheyareapleasuretowatchasacoachandparent.
