Additional Info:The camp is not required to participate in band, however it is strongly encouraged. Students have a head start on their instruments and learn quicker.

Why start early?

What will I learn?

Students are highly encouraged to receive individual lessons on their instruments before school starts. This wonderful experience teaches students the basic principles of playing their instruments: rhythm, theory, notes, and more!

• Students get to work hands on with professional musicians which allow them to experience the enjoyment of playing music. • Creates a positive setting for students to learn music. • Students learn valuable techniques: playing techniques, musicality, rehearsal behavior, intonation, dynamics, rhythm, breathe control. • Instrument specific classes working on basic playing fundamentals. (proper playing position, breathing, sound production, etc.).

• Individual mini-lessons to help ensure each student is approaching their instrument correctly.

• Rhythm Workshop: (daily rhythm drills to help students develop a strong sense of rhythm)

• Intro to Music Theory: (introduce and help students understand basic musical concepts like scales, intervals, and chords.)
