Pilotage

Pilotage Service Provider: Darwin Port

The Pilotage Services Provider: Provides, transports and transfers licenced pilots to navigate a vessel within the port of Darwin; Recruits, employs, trains and monitors the performance of pilots; Conducts the day-to-day operations of the pilotage service; and Is responsible for the safety and management of marine pilots.

Pilotage is compulsory in the Port of Darwin:• North of 12˚ 25’S for vessels of 200 metres overall length or greater or of 10.7m draft or greater and proceeding south of the Outer Pilot Boarding Ground, 12˚ 19’S;

• South of 12˚ 25’S for all vessels of 35 metres overall length or greater (Inner pilot boarding ground)
