 Curriculum  Vitae  et  Studiorum  Francesco  Paolucci  received  his  degree  in  chemistry,  magna  cum  laude,  from  the  University  of  Bologna  in  1986.  He  was  Research  Scientist  at  the  Italian  National  Research  Council  in  Padua,  from  1987  to  1992,  when  he  was  appointed  Assistant  Professor  at  the  University  of  Bologna,  where  he  became  Associate  Professor   in  2001  and  Professor  of  Physical  Chemistry   in  2011.  He   is,   since  2009,  Chairman  of   the  Degree   in  Chemistry   at   the   School   of   Sciences.  He   spent  sabbatical   leaves   at   the   University   of   Southampton,   UK   (1990-­‐1991),   Ecole   Normale  Supérieure  in  Paris  (1995),  University  of  Texas  at  Austin  (2005)  and  was  Professeur  invité  at  the   University   of   Bourdeaux   and   CNRS   (2007   and   2010).   He   is   member   of   the   National  Consortium  of  Materials  Science  and  Technology  (INSTM),  of  the  Italian  Chemical  Society  and  of  the  International  Society  of  Electrochemistry  and  was  member  of  the  Steering  Committee  of  the  Italian  Electrochemical  Society  in  2005-­‐2010.  The  research  of  his  Group  currently  focuses  on   various   themes   of   molecular,   supramolecular   and   materials   electrochemistry,  electrogenerated   chemiluminescence   and   scanning   electrochemical   microscopy,   on   the  electrochemistry   of   carbon  nanostructures,   fullerenes,   carbon  nanotubes   and   graphene   and  their  exploitation  in  energy-­‐related  applications,  for  the  development  of  novel  diagnostic  tools  for   cancer   and   heart   diseases   and   the   setup   of   new   electroanalytical   procedures   for   the  detection   of   biomarkers   and   toxins.   He   has   several   scientific   collaborations  with   Academic  Research   Groups   in   Italy,   Europe   and   North   America   and   with   industrial   partners.   His  scientific  activity   is  documented  by  over  140  publications   in  peer-­‐review   journals   (H-­‐index:  35),   3   Italian   patents   and   3   International   patents,   4   chapters   in   books,   and   by   several  seminars   and   invited   and   plenary   lectures   in   Europe,   North   America   and   Asia.   He   was  Chairman   of   the   International  Meeting,   sponsored   by   the  Division   6   of   ISE:   "ECHEMS  8th   -­‐Electrochemistry  in  Molecular  Surface  Science  and  Catalysis"  (Bertinoro,  Italy,  June  28-­‐July  1,  2012).      Program  Molecular Electrochemistry is central to Electrochemistry and may ideally interface with all other sub-disciplines of Electrochemistry. The great success of Symposia 12 and 13, sponsored by the Division 6, at the Annual ISE Meeting in Prague, was a clear indication that the themes and topics proper to Molecular Electrochemistry are of general interest to most of the Electrochemical Community. Beside the promotion of activities in the field of divisional interests, also through the co-sponsorship of particular Meetings, it is therefore deemed essential to intensify in the next years the policy of the present Chairs of keeping a high level of cooperation with other Divisions, in order to attract always new members and, in particular, young researchers to the Division. This aim will be achieved through the identification of main themes and specification of symposia for future Annual Meetings and the selection of hot topics for Spring Meetings that may be relevant to a wider number of ISE members.
