Welcome to Townhead Park
I’d like to welcome the Kilbirnie Ladeside committee, management,
players and supporters to Townhead Park for today’s game.
We are now two league games into our campaign and I’m very pleased
with the start we have made. Last Saturday I thought we thoroughly
deserved our victory against Rossvale and some of the football we
played was excellent to watch. On Wednesday night at Troon we were
disappointed to only come away with a point, after going 1-0 up so late
in the game. We thought we deserved to come away with all 3 points,
especially with the chances we created and how we dominated for the
last 30 minutes.
Today’s game will be a very difficult one. Kilbirnie will be looking to kick-
start their season but we will be looking to maintain our momentum.
Each one of us will have to be at our best and with your support behind
us I’m sure we can achieve this.

Troon 1 – 1 CumnockThere was late, late drama at Portland Park in this nervy encounter between two teams whoprobably feel they should be taking full points off each other. Cumnock’s Jordan Banks thought hehad won it for Nock but Evan Maley equalised in the 90th minute. The last match here was a jitteryrelegation fight which Cumnock edged 1 – 0. You got the feeling here one goal would have beenenough to take 3 points again. Cumnock were forced into a change from Saturdays league openeras Craig McLeish sat this one out due to suspension. Nock gaffer Paul Burns also had StephenMcKenna, Iain Anderson, Kyle Faulds and Richard Murray missing.
In a very quiet first half neither team took control of the game. Troon striker Ryan Stevensonseemed to be having an off night as he fired well wide of the target on a few occasions. Cumnock’sAlly Semple had to be alert to a Pooler header after a corner wasn’t cleared, clawing the strikerseffort away from his goal. At the other end Jordan Kemoe found himself one on one with ScottJohnstone but the keeper stood tall and parried Kemoes drive round the post. Rhuaridh McIntyrewas unlucky not to hit the target from a Ramage corner, the big defender heading over the Troonbar from close range.
Half time: 0-0
The second half followed the same pattern as the first with neither Johnstone or Semple havingmuch to do. After Troon hit the post late in the match Cumnock upped the pace and had a couple ofchances to win it. Substitute Jordan Banks robbed Neil McGregor and darted towards goal, roundedJohnstone but went too wide. He cut the ball back to Kemoe but the strikers tame effort was savedby the Troon keeper. Minutes later Banks again was provider this time for Campbell. The youngstriker passing up the chance by firing straight at Johnstone. Then with a minute remaining Bankssomehow found the corner of Johnstone’s goal with an excellent finish much to the delight of thelarge travelling support who thought the 3 points were in the bag…however Troon’s Evan Maleypopped up with a deflected shot right at the death to give Semple no chance and Troon a share ofthe spoils.

Cumnock 3 – 1 Rossvale
www.cumnockjuniors.com
Cumnock welcomed history makers Rossvale to Townhead Park for their first ever match
in the top division. The Bishopbriggs club have had a meteoric rise up through the Junior
Divisions.
Rossvale kicked off against Cumnock who had Ally Semple, Paul Burns and striker Jamie
Conn all back in the starting line up after being rested in midweek. Recent signing
Rhuaridh McIntyre kept his place in the team and Burns handed Ayr United loanee
Nathan Baird a debut at right back. The game kicked off in rather strange circumstances
for a Premiership match as no Linespersons were present. Both teams found the
blistering heat a problem in the first half with the temperature rising by the
minute. Cumnock still tried to play their quick passing game and a few times nice
intricate build up play led to efforts on goal for Miller and Conn. On 24 minutes Cumnock
took the lead through Player Manager Burns. In a conjested midfield, the impressive
Craig McLeish played a one – two with Graeme Ramage and then another with
Christopher Campbell and then lifted a pass over the Rossvale defence into the path of
Burns who slid it past James Donnelly in the visitors’ goal. This goal seemed to shake
Rossvale into life and they responded on the half hour mark after great work down their
left hand side. Joe Slattery drilled home a pull back below Nock keeper Ally
Semple. During this period Rossvale looked the more likely of the two teams to take the
lead. Their midfield and strikers were picking up most second balls and this led to
Semple having to make two cracking saves from Slattery who was finding all sorts of
space in the home 18 yard box. Cumnock’s Allister Miller found himself in Referee Chris
Gentles’ book on the stroke of halftime.
Half time: 1-1
www.cumnockjuniors.com
Cumnock had Semple to thank yet again from going behind as Rossvale started the second halfwhere they left off in the first half. Again Joe Slattery was the man denied by a tremendoussave from Semple at full stretch somehow saving Slattery’s shot with his left foot. This saveseemed to spark Cumnock back to life and after a quick counter attack Donnelly made a greatsave from Campbell. The link up play down Cumnock’s right hand side between Baird andCampbell was causing Rossvale problems and a few flash crosses from Campbell just had notakers in the box for Cumnock. On 51 minutes Cumnock took the lead again. McLeish foundhimself in shooting range and curled a great effort low into the corner from 20 yards. 4minutes later the turning point in the game presented itself. After a long ball caused problemsfor the Rossvale defence outrushing keeper Donnelly headed clear straight to Ramage whoimmediately volleyed back towards goal only for the keeper to produce a stunningsave. However he was a few yards outside his box and Gentles immediately showed him thered card for deliberate handball outside the box. Matt Niven taking over in goal lined up a wallfrom the resulting free kick only for Ramage to find a way through it but he savedcomfortably. Cumnock were piling on the pressure looking for the killer goal and to be fair tostand in keeper Niven he had a couple of fine saves. Cumnock did find the killer goal whenafter a fine pass from Baird, Jamie Conn turned his marker in the box and blasted into thenet. Right at the death man on the match McLeish was shown a red card for dissent. The onlyblot on an eventful opening match for Cumnock.

Who are we?
We are an online non-profit organisation set up to tackle the stigma of men's mental health. We aim to encourage men to take the first step and
speak out.
Run by volunteers who are all support-trained, we are all here to listen. We pride ourselves on our quick response rate, something we feel extremely strong about. We do not take any expenses out of anything raised so all
money donated goes straight back into our campaigns to raise awareness.
We must stress we are not a counselling service - but more of a first-step chatting platform. We will offer as much support as we can before
signposting to relevant other charities, if we feel the need to do so.
Each conversation is 100% strictly confidential. When messaging, you will be assigned a volunteer who will remain with you throughout your journey - be
that 5 minutes or 5 months. Any issue that is making you feel low - i.e stress, family issues, money worries, depression, exam results etc.
Although our page is predominantly aimed at men, we will help anyone who is struggling and in need.
We are here to listen and help as best we can.

Which clubs have you played for previously?
I’ve played in the states doing a scholarship for 2 years in Philadelphia, Ayr United and Maybole Juniors.
What made you sign for Cumnock?
I signed for Cumnock because I felt it was the perfect club for me as a player to develop my game further. The opportunity to play at the top end of Junior football also caught my attention because I want to try my best and help make this club successful.
What's been your biggest achievement in football so far?My biggest achievement so far in football would probably be playing out in the U.S. I developed lots as a player out there because of the physical demand; every player you played against was an athlete so you always had to be on top of your game.
What's your opinion on VAR?
I think VAR has its positives and negatives but personally I think it’s good for the game.
