BARRIERS TO CREATIVITY

• Cultural: traditions often rely on conformity.

• Emotional: fears of making a mistake; seeming foolish; fear of the unknown; reluctance to play.

• Perceptual: the inability to break away from patterns so can’t see the finer details’ overvaluing the real world.

• Environmental: classrooms that fail to stimulate or challenge; lack of resources, no time to “play”, or experiment.
