Patient-Centred Care

• There are a number of key initiatives underway at HSN in which patients and families are a key component of our planning efforts. These include:

– Quality Improvement Plan– Organizational Excellence – Patient/Family Advisory Councils at the program level– Patient representation on:

• Board committees (ie. Quality Committee)• Selection committees (ie. Executive recruitment)

• The experience of care, as perceived by the patient and family, is an important factor in health care quality and safety.

• Purpose of council is to provide advice on how we can deliver quality, safe and compassionate care at HSN that is first and foremost centred on patients.
