Brass and organ intro

Unison 1 All hail the power of Jesus' name! Let angels prostrate fall, let angels prostrate fall. Bring forth the royal diadem,

Harmony…….and crown… him Lord of all!

Harmony 2 O seed of Israel's chosen race now ransomed from the fall, now ransomed from the fall. Hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown… him Lord of all!

Harmony 3 Let every tongue and every tribe responsive to his call, responsive to his call, to him all majesty ascribe, and crown… him Lord of all!

Brass and organ interlude

Unison 4 Oh, that with all the sacred throng we at his feet may fall! we at his feet may fall! We'll join the everlasting song

Harmony…….and crown… him Lord of all.

Lyrics: Edward Perronet (1780)

Crown Him with Many Crowns

Mark
8

Unison 1 Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne. Hark! how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own. Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee, and hail him as thy matchless king through all eternity.

Harmony 2 Crown him the Lord of life, who triumphed o'er the grave, and rose victorious in the strife for those he came to save; his glories now we sing who died and rose on high, who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.

Harmony 3 Crown him the Lord of love; behold his hands and side, rich wounds, yet visible above, in beauty glorified; no angels in the sky can fully bear that sight, but downward bends their burning eye at mysteries so bright.

Unison + 4 Crown him the Lord of years, DESCANT the potentate of time, (over page) creator of the rolling spheres, ineffably sublime. All hail, Redeemer, hail! for thou hast died for me; thy praise shall never, never fail throughout eternity.

Lyrics: Matthew Bridges (1851)

Thine be the glory (Maccabæus)

Unison throughout

1. Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son; endless is the victory, thou o'er death hast won; angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away, kept the folded grave clothes where thy body lay.

Refrain 2. Lo! Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb; Lovingly he greets us, scatters fear and gloom; let the Church with gladness, hymns of triumph sing; for her Lord now liveth, death hath lost its sting.

Refrain

Brass interlude

3. No more we doubt thee, glorious Prince of life; life is naught without thee; aid us in our strife; make us more than conquerors, through thy deathless love: bring us safe through Jordan to thy home above.
