• Existing studies suggest that Cork Products can Contribute to Mitigation of Climate Change by providing an effective alternative material with lower emissions than its most common alternatives

• Availability of data on each cork product’s annual production makes the the overall benefit to mitigation from substitution very difficult to quantify

• The diversity of cork applications is growing over time, and further research is needed to quantify and extend these conclusions for other cork products
