Delivering on Education
More than €38,000,000 was provided for majorschool building and modernisation projects inWaterford between 2011 and 2015.
Delivering on Employment
Live Register down by 10.2% in Waterford betweenMay 2014 and May 2015.
In the past year the live register in Co. Waterford has beenreduced by 1,288.
When Labour entered government we restored the mimimumwage to €8.65 per hour. We plan to increase this to€9.15 an hour.
Delivering on Health
5,869 children across Waterford are set to benefitfrom the roll-out of free GP care for those aged under 6.
As of 1 Jan 2015, 57,602 medical cards are in operation inWaterford, of which 1,838 were discretionary cards.
There are 10,500 over-70 Medical Cards in Waterford withmore to benefit from the roll out of free GP access for all over70's.
Delivering on Housing
As part of the Housing 2020 strategy WaterfordCity and County Council has received €11,479,016 so far todeliver 88 social housing units. Some of these will be throughdirect build and others will be acquired through approvedhousing bodies. Further tranches of funding are still to come.
Projects in Waterford received €927,384 of funding under theBetter Energy Communities scheme in 2014.
