Quasi-momentum K ≡ continuous quantum number for the continuum of states!
Problem: scale of K cannot be fixed – any other dependence on level k ispossible!
possible solutions:
compare density of states in the continuum against prediction for a candidateCFT (which??):used in the staggered six vertex model → SL(2,R)/U(1) σ-modelidentify possible discrete part of conformal spectrum:non-normalizable states (not in Hilbert space of the periodic chain) mayappear (i.e. become normalizable) under adiabatic change of twist ϕ
