• By day 3, test curtains showed increased microbial contamination (mean colony-forming units )

• Between days 10 and 14 after being hung, 8 of the 10 curtains tested positive for MRSA

Skilled Nursing Facility Study

• 1500 samples taken from privacy curtains in 625 skilled nursing facilities in Michigan -- after 14 days, 30 days then monthly for six months.

• Study showed that 22% of samples from privacy curtains tested positive for drug resistant organisms MRSA, VRE (1 in 5 cultures taken were contaminated)
