Configuring Internet Explorer for The A+nywhere Learning System

Step 1: Open Internet options within Internet Explorer.

Step 2: Under Browsing history, click the Settings button.

Step 3: Under Check for newer versions of stored pages select Every time I visit the webpage and click OK.

Step 4: Click the Security tab, choose Trusted Sites, and then click the Sites button.

Step 5: Under Add this website to the zone, enter *.aplusanywhere.com, click Add, and then click Close. Uncheck

Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone if necessary. If your school is hosting its own A+LS installation,

replace “aplusanywhere.com” with the domain name for your installation (ex. *.school.k12.ok.us).

Step 6: Click the Custom level… button under Security level for this zone.

Step 7: Scroll down and locate Enable XSS Filter under Scripting. Set this option to Disable and click OK. This setting is

needed for some teacher and administrator reports. If this is a student workstation, this setting can be left as is.

Step 8: Check the box beside Allow active content to run in files on My Computer*. This eliminates the banner warning

regarding active content that appears with some curriculum content as well as teacher/administrator reports.

Otherwise, the Allow button needs to be clicked each time such content is encountered.

Click OK to save your changes and close the Internet Options window. Close all Internet Explorer windows so that the

changes take effect the next time Internet Explorer is launched.

If problems persist after correctly configuring and restarting Internet Explorer, check for and remove an invalid session

by clicking the “Check Browser Settings” link on the login screen of the Browser Playback interface.

Click Remove Invalid Session.

At the prompt, enter the logon name and password for the affected user and click Next.

Once done, return to the Browser Playback logon screen and log in again. If problems still persist, return to the Check

Browser Settings link and run the Cookie Test and the Cache Test.

If one or both of these tests fails with a properly configured browser, contact your school’s IT department or AEC

Support for assistance.
