The 5th edition of the International Conference on Mediterranean Pines will be held in the beautiful city of Solsona, in the heart of the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees (northeastern Spain). The conference will be co-organized by the Forest Sciences Centre of Catalonia (CTFC) and INIA Forest Research Cen-tre in close collaboration with the Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF).

Aim

Advancing in the understanding of the vulnerabi-lity and adaptive mechanisms of Mediterranean pine(*) ecosystems to the different components of global change.(*) Understood like eu-Mediterranean pine species (Pinus brutia, P. halepensis, P. heldreichii, P. pinaster, P. pinea) or other pines living in the Mediterranean mountains (P. nigra, P. sylvestris, etc.), but contributions on phylogenetically related species (P. canariensis and P. roxburghii) and pines from other Medite-

rranean Climate Zones (MCZs) will also be welcome.

Main topics

• EvOLUTION AND ADAPTATION

• BIODIvERSITy AND CONSERvATION

• FIRE SCIENCES

• ABIOTIC INTERACTIONS AND CLIMATE CHANGE

• BIOTIC INTERACTIONS
