CHARLES CASTO’S 100TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION, SATURDAY, JUNE 25, 1PM – AUDITORIUM: Residents and staff can celebrate with Charles Casto and his family from 1PM - 5PM in the Auditorium. Following the birthday celebration, join him at the Bowie Baysox Stadium for the baseball game followed by fireworks. 60 seats are available and reserved for Collington; when you get to the box office say that you are with the Casto Collington group. If you get there after the 60 seats are filled, tickets are $8.00. NATIONAL FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA, SATURDAY, JUNE 25, COLLEGE PARK, MD: Departs at 7PM. Return time approximately 10PM. This is a 4 - week training program designed to address the changing world of symphony orchestras. Members are selected through rigorous cross-country audition tours and are invited to the University of Maryland; here they are mentored by distinguished faculty drawn from the Nation’s top orchestras and conservatories.

MUSIC CONCERT, SUNDAY, JUNE 26, 3PM – AUDITORIUM: Sunday Afternoon Concert: Our concert this week will feature Tom Lagana, classical and jazz guitarist. Tom is well known in this area for his Trio, which has played in numerous clubs and festivals. Tom played in the Disney Jazz band in Orlando before returning to the Baltimore, Washington, Annapolis area. He has played at the King of France tavern in Annapolis. Mr. Lagana received his Master's of Music while on the staff of Towson University and is currently part of the faculty of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. We hope to see everyone on Sunday in the Auditorium.

SPEAKERS COMMITTEE SPEAKER, WEDNESDAY, JUNE 29, 7:30PM – AUDITORIUM: “Has the Egyptian Revolution failed?” by Professor Nathan Brown, Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at the George Washington University. His work is focused on Islamic politics, particularly in Egypt and the Palestinian territories, and Islamist movements in the Arab world. His research has also explored constitutional law in the Arab world. SHABBAT SERVICE AND DINNER, FRIDAY, JULY 1, 5:30PM – PRIVATE DINING ROOM: The next Sabbath service and dinner for Collington's Jewish Community is scheduled for Friday, July 1, beginning promptly at 5:30 pm in the dining room.
