Club Prior Press
DECEMBER 2019/JANUARY 2020
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It’s here and it’s time to celebrate
sending 2019 to rest and ringing in 2020! There is so much to be grateful for
this past year from Club Prior. First and foremost the very generous donation
from the Lions and the Rotary for their financial contribution for our AV up-
grade.
Stop by Club Prior and enjoy a festive cup of coffee or tea with friends. You
will enjoy the holiday music, decorations and atmosphere of the Club this sea-
son. All decked out with fresh poinsettias, garland, Christmas tree and all the
windows decorated with a magical village.
We are happy to announce several new ways to help us help others this holiday
season. Bring a canned donation for our Club Prior Pantry to help feed those
that need a little extra this holiday season. Also looking for socks for those in
the community that might need warm dry feet during these cold weather
months. We will always take gift cards and purchase supplies for our commu-
nity partners. Club Prior also started an Amazon Wish List that you can look
up and purchase items right from there and will be shipped directly to City Hall
for us! There is a giving tree in the lobby of the library building that we are
looking for start up supplies for our Memory Café as this is growing and find-
ing we need resources and support for these loved ones in the community.
I wish each of you a blessed Christmas and healthy, happy new year! Make
me a promise and make this the year you come see what Club Prior is all
about. You won’t regret walking in and being greeted instantly by new friends
and things to do.

your final affairs in order for your loved ones. This in-
cludes your final wishes documented, legal documents up
to date and medical charts scanned into the health system
for your team of doctors. I am available to help you sort
through the process of either starting a conversation with
your loved ones about filling out a health directive and
why it’s important to have all your wishes heard.

2020 Fitness Fund Drive
Do you take the free fitness classes at Club Prior and enjoy com-
ing week after week? To continue to keep these classes at no
charge to you, we ask that participants give a donation back to
Club Prior comparable to what it would cost to take these clas-
ses at another location. We pay our instructors who are profes-
sionally trained, First Aid certified for your safety and at a rate
that they charge to teach other places. Please mark your dona-
tion “FITNESS FUND” and place in the wooden box under the
clock by the coffee service. We thank you very much for your
continued support and see the value in these classes we provide
at Club Prior. We are looking at adding more classes for 2020,
however, we would have to see more financial support before
committing.

GIVING THIS SEASON
Giving Tree
Tis the season to give back to someone or something in need.
Club Prior is in need of a few things for its Memory Café for
the cognitive impaired and their families. Partnering with
the Library we are putting together kits that families and
caregivers can check out that will be packed with resources,
activities and tools for them and their loved ones. We are
asking for particular books, appropriate puzzles, etc. that can
be found on Amazon. If you don’t have access to Amazon,
gift cards can be purchased and we can purchase the items
for you. All items will be put to wonderful use! Donations
can be dropped off at the
Twisted Loop, Library
or Club Prior. More
information can be
found near the tree or
feel free to visit with any
staff in the Library build-
ing.

**NEW!
The Club Prior
Pantry
A generous grant
was given to Club
Prior to start the
new, upcoming
Club Prior Pantry!
The purpose of the
pantry is to give all those ages 55+ access to free, nutri-
tious snacks and meals without having to visit a “food
pantry”. Club Prior will always accept anonymous dona-
tions and those funds will go back directly to the pantry.
Club Prior is hoping to also have access to fresh fruits and
vegetables as we also have a way to keep them cool. The
pantry is a partnership with R.O.C.K. who will be provid-
ing the food and volunteers to help maintain the pantry by
transporting the food from the warehouse to our site. The
pantry will have certain hours and conditions upon open-
ing. Please watch for more details as you visit Club Prior
in the upcoming weeks!
