profile sections have been carefully designed to ensure that the levels of thermal and weather resistance

performance are exceptional

Planning and ConservationPlanning conditions can be very strict, so it’s best to check with local planners before you order any windows. In most areas of the country, uPVC sash windows are accepted by the planners who now

recognise the obvious benefits of uPVC over timber; no rotting, no swelling, no draughts, no painting every

two years and almost zero maintenance.

Environmental Design

Most of us are more concerned than ever about our environmental footprint. When conceiving this window, thermal performance was

uppermost in our designers’ minds. Heating a property is expensive and its vital to eliminate drafts but we also recognise that our windows must provide easy to operate functional ventilation. Box Sash Windows offer

the optimum air flow of virtually any window design.

Thermal PropertiesOur Classic outer frames and sashes are multichambered and the trapped air inside these profiles provides excellent insulation. Our windows can be supplied with Argon Gas filled double glazed units, which enables us to offer an

outstanding ‘A’ level energy rating.

As standard, our Box Sash Windows achieve an energy rating of ‘B’ with a thermal u‐value of 1.6 W/m²k. The lower the u‐value of a window, the slower the heat is able to transmit through it, and the better the window

performs as an insulator.

We are proud to say that uPVC can be recycled many times over, without any deterioration in performance. So, selecting a Classic Box Sash Window is an environmentally friendly choice, as most of our

windows will be recycled one day, many years from now.

Colour Coded WeathersealClassic Box Sash Windows feature colour coded

woolpile seals all around the window. This woolpile is vital in keeping the British weather out. We specify a thin sleeve of plastic in the middle of the pile, which

helps prevent friction when opening sashes vertically. It is small but important features like this that set our

windows apart.

Keeping your home safe

Our Classic Box Sash Windows feature advanced levels of security but we have kept the opening,

closing and locking operations very simple. These practical windows can be fitted with a number of

safety features. The sashes are secured in the locked position using a cam catch which is securely screwed into the top face of the lower sash. You can choose a

key‐locking or non‐locking cam catch.

Our traditional sash window is backed up by an impressive list of accreditations:

• Kitemarked to BS EN 12608 and PAS 24 • Manufactured in the UK • Secured by Design accredited • Compliant with Building Regulations • 10‐year manufacturing guarantee

We offer you the option of upgrading the security of your Box Sash by specifying PAS 24:2016 and a Secured by Design security package. PAS24:2016 is usually mandatory on new‐build projects. Please note that this upgrade is not standard and must be requested as part of the

This revolutionary process disguises the external 45‐degree corner welds with a flush mitre, providing a far superior aesthetic finish than conventional uPVC welded frames.

This finish is only available on woodgrain windows; minimum window size of 475mm wide x 900mm high.

Our Classic window design provides you with best of all worlds; timeless aesthetic elegance combined with modern materials and manufacturing techniques that keep your home safe and warm. The beauty of this window is that it can be styled to look good on a Victorian terraced property or on a contemporary new build. We allow you the freedom to choose from a range of styles, features and furniture options, to design a window unique to

your taste.

Slide & Tilt Classic windows always feature a slide and tilt facility, allowing you

to clean both the top and bottom sash from inside your home.*

If you are looking for a premium finish, our fully mechanically jointed Classic Box Sash Window is designed to almost exactly replicate Victorian timber windows. Every joint is hand screwed

together by our Joiners, rather than being fusion welded.

Enhance your window by choosing either run‐through or plant‐on sash horns. The run‐through horn is mechanically

jointed rather than welded to achieve a more authentic look as it appears to be a continuous element of the top sash.

The plant‐on horn is a sculptured moulding that is fixed to the underside of the top sash.

You can customise your Box Sash Window by including astragal bars, in many combinations. These bars are securely fixed to both

sides of the glazed unit and are complimented by back to back spacer bars inside the double‐glazed unit.

This confirms a true period finish.

*Please note: on windows with a woodgrain finish externally and smooth finish internally we are not able to offer top sash tilt facility.

Choose a deep bottom rail if you want your sliding sash windows to look as close to the original timber version as possible.

The larger bottom rail sash convincingly mimics the timber sash windows of old. The deep bottom rail is available with welded or

mechanical joints.

Deep Bottom Rail

This button is used to open and tilt the sashes for easy cleaning of the outside frame and glass from inside your home.

The D handle is designed to be fitted to the underside of the top sash on the outside of the window to assist with the opening and closing of the window. Alternatively, you can request the D handle to be fitted to the

inside top sash.

All our Classic uPVC Sliding Sash Windows are supplied with either one or two sash pulls as standard, depending on window size. They are usually

fitted on the inside of the bottom sash to allow easy upward opening.

Our Heritage cam catch locking system secures the sash window shut, by fastening the meeting rails together

Our furniture is available in eight different finishes. Please note that our travel restrictors are only available in white, chrome, gold and satin chrome.

This ring is designed to be fitted to the top rail, of the top sash. The pole ring is designed to allow you use a long pole with a hook (not supplied) to

operate any windows that are positioned too high to operate by hand.

Travel Restrictors limit the opening of the top and bottom sashes to approximately 100mm (4 inches). They are primarily specified as a safety

feature in locations where opening restrictions are needed or for households with young children or animals. The magnetic mechanism can be

manipulated from inside your home to allow for a full opening of the window.

If you are looking to really personalise your new windows, we offer a bespoke colour bonding service in which you can choose from over 1000 colours, in either a smooth or woodgrain finish. You can design the perfect window style for your home or property. Our Classic Box Sash Windows are very adaptable and below you will find examples of the different Georgian bar layouts available. Our windows are

supplied as standard with equal size top and bottom sashes, we call it a 50/50 split. We can manufacture other split ratios, with a minimum transom drop of 350mm.

Seamless True ArchThe sections our uPVC Box Sash Windows are very substantial. To bend or shape them we have invested in CNC controlled equipment to allow us to achieve that

perfect bend or arch. We provide a true arched window with no welded joints in the frame.

Coupled & Bay WindowsCoupled and Bay Windows are both very popular for large openings as they can open up your living

space and bring in natural light. They are often required in replacement situations too of course.
