History & Purpose of BC911One District, Two Missions
• Our local 9-1-1 System:• District was formed in 1988 under authority of the Texas Emergency
Telephone Number Act• Charged with building, maintaining, and upgrading a local 9-1-1 system
for Brazos County• Funded by 9-1-1 service fees
• Our Combined Dispatch Center:• Since 1990, we have provided Emergency Dispatch services, at cost, for
participating agencies in Brazos County • Bryan & Brazos County currently participate• Funded by an annual contract & billed monthly
Call volumes have remained flat over
the last 5 years

Our Dispatch Center
Secondary Bryan Police Radio Position
Dispatchers answer 9-1-1 & Non-Emergency telephone calls & send an appropriate response based on the location and nature of the call. Dispatchers also keep track of units in the field and log all of the information pertaining to a call into a Computer Aided Dispatching system (CAD).

How we determine your cost
The shared Call Taking positions are funded based
on call volumes.
Radio positions are funded based on the entity to which
they are dedicated.
Supervisor Positions, education, training, & supplies are funded based on a combination
of call volume and dedicated manpower.
