The Mission for July is Jim and Terri Wilson with PressOn Youth Ministry in Kearney.

The VBS Missions Project in June was to help sickchildren being cared for at the Tandala Hospital inAfrica.

A young girl, named Shiloh, sent her money to thishospital wanting to help children who were sick andneeded help paying for their care. An account was setup in her name to help those in need.

The children and their families generously gave$213.80 during the week!

As I was traveling, I heard a Catholic Theologianspeak on Genesis 1 and the dominion that God gaveto man over the garden. His main point was that thisword that God gave Adam to do was in fact, in themeaning of the word, toprotect; to guard thegarden. I was intrigued by the implications that thisman gave about that simple command [sorry I cantremember his name]. The word implied that Adamhad something to guard, or protect, the garden

against. That would be Satan, the adversary. Notonly did Adam need to protect the garden, he alsohad a wife to protect and guard. As this theologian continued to explain the versesand the implications he laid out the three choicesthat Adam had to Satans threat [a whole otherdiscussion] at the tree of life. Adam could havecalled on his Father, God. He could have rolled uphis sleeves and challenged Satan [which eventhough he would have lost his life, God would haveaccepted his sacrifice and raised him from thedeadthat too is for another discussion]. Adamslast choice was to be silent. This last choice is the

one he chose; therefore, condemning all mankind toa life with sin.My friends there are times to be silent; there aretimes to call to our Father for help; and there aretimes to roll up our sleeves and stand for truth with achallenge. I am finding that having thediscernmentto know the difference and chose the correctresponse is part of knowing Christ more and more.I will be honestif I cannot determine what is correctI want to always fall back on calling out to myHeavenly Father for help. I dont think you can gowrong with that choice!

I pray this summer as you continue to walk your faithjourney that you will think about these threeresponses-for if youare a follower of Christ, you arein a battle- you have something to protect, to guardfaith. May we have the grace and guidance to know.

    In Christ,Pastor Matt
