SHOOTING CHANGA MANGA FOREST

BRIEF INTRODUCTION

Changa Manga forest is one of the largest man-planned and man-grown forests in the world. It is located

approximately 70 kilometers in the South of Lahore. It covers an area of 48.6 square kilometers (12,000

acres).

The planting and irrigation of the land took place in 1890 AD by the British to provide for the fuel needs of Indian

Railways Network.

The most common species of trees found in the forest are Dalbergia Sissoo (Sheesham), Acacia Nilotica (Kikar), Morus Alba (White Mulberry), Eucalyptus (Safaidah)

and other Populus species.
