Finding Your Specimen Start with the scanning objective. Clip the slide in place. Adjust diaphragm if necessary. Center and focus (coarse and fine adjustment) Repeat with low power objective. Switch to high power and sketch one cell. DO NOT USE THE COARSE ADJUSTMENT WITH THE HIGH POWER OBJECTIVE IN PLACE!

Cheek Cell Slide Preparation

Obtain a clean slide.Place 1 drop of stain in

the middle of the slide.Scrape cells from the

inside of your cheek.Stir them in the stain.Add a cover slip.Sketch (½ page) a cell on high power.Label all visible structures to the best

of your abilities.
