Sistema de Protección contra Arco Eléctrico Definición de Arco Eléctrico
Arco Eléctrico resulta del paso de la corriente eléctrica a tráves de lo que había sido aire, al ionizarse y romper el espacio aislante.
Los arcos eléctricos se manifiestan liberando diversos tipos de energía
Arc Flash: Se define como condición peligrosa asociada con el incremento de energía causado por un arco eléctrico. (Fuente: NFPA 70E)
La unidad de medida es cal/cm2 y se encuentra en términos de energía incidente.

A Prueba de Arco Interno Las Celdas de ABB cumplen conforme a los cinco
criterios de la norma:
1.Las puertas del panel deben permanecer
cerradas y no debe ocurrir la apertura de la
cubierta del panel.
2. Ninguna parte de la celda que pueda ser
peligrosa para el personal debe ser expulsada;
3.Ningun agujero debe aparecer en la carcasa
externa de la celda en las partes accesibles para
el personal;
4.Los indicadores de fabrica verticales y
horizontales dispuestos fuera de la celda no
deben quemarse.
5. Toda la conexión de puesta a tierra de la celda
debe seguir siendo eficaz.

ABB desarrolla un nuevo sistema de protección para la mitigación de los efectos de arco eléctrico para celdas en media y baja tensión
El objetivo: Lograr la mejor protección en celdas de media y baja tensión en lo que se refiere a su destrucción por arcos eléctricos y seguridad del personal

Principo de Funcionamiento:
Sensores opricos en configuración anillo que es continuamente monitoreado para detectar el destello de luz producido por el arco eléctrico.
Supervisión de detector de fallos. Ambos corriente y luz son requeridos para el disparo.

Comunicación entre dos unidades principales REA 101.

Functional principle:
