Casual employees: are employed on an hourly basis and don’t usually get sick leave, annual leave or other benefits. Rates of pay are generally higher to make up for this. There are no guaranteed hours of work. Some additional benefits apply after a long period.

Part-time employees: work fixed amounts of hours per week. They receive a pro-rata amount of pay and benefits.
