Who is eligible to apply?
Charles County Residents ONLYResidency means domiciled (sleeps) in Charles County
• Both the student AND parent/guardian must be
current residents of Charles County at the time of
application
• The student must be currently enrolled (SY 2019-20)
as an 8th grader
The COMPLETE Application Process
Step 1Student completes ONLINE application with all required
information.
Step 2Student AND parent/guardian electronically sign the application.
Step 3The student completes Interest Survey at current middle school in
January.
•Application is online at the North Point & McDonough websites
•The online application window opens November 25, 2019
•Application deadline: December 20, 2019 by 3 p.m.

The on-line application requires the following information:
1. Current address and contact information for BOTH the student and parent/guardian
2. Name of current middle school
3. 1st program choice (2nd choice optional)
4. STUDENT response to 5 preliminary interest questions
5. Electronic signatures confirming Charles County legal residency
• Letters of acceptance mailed to students in April 2020.
• The letter of acceptance contains an acceptance agreement.
• In order to ACCEPT, you must do the following within 2 weeks:
1- Sign acceptance agreement
2- Turn in 2 proofs of legal Charles County residency
Acceptance Information
How admission is determined:
✓Entire application is complete
✓Application questions and Interest Survey score
✓Number of qualified applicants for each program (determined by overall score)
✓If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of seats available, a lottery system will be used to allow equitable access.
✓Non-traditional applicants will receive consideration.
