• Documents the effectiveness of the multiple barriers used to protect water quality

• Provides water quality information to local governments and the public

Drinking Water Sample Analysis

GVWD Transmission System Water Mains and Reservoirs:• Approximately 7,500 samples collected and

99.6% were negative for coliform bacteria• No E. coli detectedLocal Government Distribution Systems:• Approximately 20,000 samples collected and

99.8% were negative for coliform bacteria • No E. coli detected

DISINFECTION BY-PRODUCTS

• Disinfection by-products (DBPs) are produced by disinfectants reacting with naturally-occurring organic compounds found in the source water.

• There are two main groups:o Trihalomethanes (THMs)o Haloacetic Acids (HAAs)
