Capernaum

• Capernaum is located on the banks of galilee.• It started as a small village which was built on 1200-587 BC.• It then expanded on 400-300 BC.• The romans then came on1st century AD and built the synagogue on the

center of the village.• A church was built on 500 AD, which was on the land of saint peter’s

house.• On 700 century ad, everyone living in the town moved. The reasons were

not known.

Prophecy

• The old testament (Isaiah 9:1-2)• The prophecy is fullfiled in the new testament (Matthew 4:12-17)• "And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by

the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali"

MIRACLES IN CAPERNAUM

Luke 5:1-11

• No luck of getting fishes• But Jesus told Simon to cast his nest• They had faith and chose to do what Jesus said• They catched fish until the nest was fulled

Matthew 8:14-25

• Peter’s mother in law had a fever• Jesus touch her

Mark 2:1-12

• Jesus was in a room filled with people who seek for healing• A paralyzed person came from the roof• He walk• Sins are forgiven

Mark 5:25-34

• Jesus was teaching• There was a woman who bleed for 12 years• She had faith• She touched Jesus’s robe• She was healed

• Jesus was teaching in Capernaum• Jairus has a sick daughter• While OTW she died• Peter, James, John and the parents were there• The girl was revived

Matthew 9:27-31

• Two blind men followed Jesus• Jesus asked them• They believe Jesus• They were healed• They told others about this miracle

Matthew 9:32-34

• Same day as before• There were people who can’t speak and were possesed by demons• Jesus cast the demon• The pharisees proclaimed that Jesus is the ruler of demons• Matthew 9:34

Matthew 12:9-13

• Many people didn’t like Jesus• There was a man with withered hand• Religious leaders asked is it lawful to heal on sabbath?• Bible didn’t record that Jesus anwered• But he said people is more important than sheep• The man was healed

Matthew 17:24-27

• A Tax collector asked Jesus • They tried to accuse him• Jesus told peter to catch a fish• Inside the fish there was a coin• Enough to pay for the taxes

John 6:22-59

• After Jesus fed thousands of people• The disciples were on the other side of the lake• Jesus walked on water• In the morning Jesus gave a lecture • Bread of heaven

Capernaum remain hard-hearted

• Matthew 11:20-24• After all the miracles• Jesus warned them about the judgement• Other places such as sodom would have repented
