Tracking
Study done by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center found that patients could improve the quality of care they were given by tracking their symptoms and side effects of treatments on the Symptom Tracking and Reporting (STAR) website
A similar study done by Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center found that patients who use PDAs to track their symptoms find it easier to communicate with their doctors about their symptoms.
Tracking
Massachusetts General Hospital researchers have started a study on a device called the CTC-chip in studying non-small cell lung cancer. This chip analyzes the tumor cells circulating in a patient’s blood.
The Moffitt Cancer Center uses Total Cancer Care when treating their patients. This means that they use evidence-based medicine with information technology, scientific studies, and health outcomes to better care for their patients.
