The Sacrament Of Baptism

Baptism is a very important Sacrament. Most of us received it when we were babies.

The priest pours water on the person who is getting baptized. He and the parents and godparents say some prayers.

When you get Baptized, you get two special people to help you as a Catholic. They are called godparents.

When we were first born, we had something called Original Sin. Baptism frees us from Original Sin.

The baby gets a white garment and a candle to show the purity of Christ and that we are the Light of God in the world.

Water is an important symbol in Baptism. It represents the washing away of sin.

We become members of the Church community and Children of God after we receive Baptism.

Baptism lets us receive the other Sacraments, too. They help us to get closer to God.

THE ENDMatthew 19:26But Jesus looked at them and said,  “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
