John Colter is known as the first white man to see the Yellowstone area.

American Indians have lived in Yellowstone area for more then 10,000 years.

Waterways

There are three main kinds of waterways in Yellowstone steam vents, hot springs and geysers.

Old Faithful is the most famous geyser of the park.

Old Faithful was in Yellowstone for more then 100 years.

Old Faithful shoots 45 to 120 minutes and 200 feet high.

Rocks and Minerals

There’s lots of rocks and minerals in Yellowstone.

The oldest rocks are gneiss and shist.

Yellowstone has some shale rocks.

Yellowstone has some limestone rocks.
