made of wood.

Introductory Activity:• This is a learner-centered activity. It will help you get an impression of what to expect
throughout the semester: your interests and ideas become part of the discussion and help guide the direction of the class.
• You may work with another student or alone (not groups of three).• Choose one of the social media applications that we are exploring this semester.• Search the Internet for “success stories in business” with regard to the social media
application you picked.• Pick one of the success stories to comment about and share with the class.• Open PowerPoint and use the screenshot command to grab a screen clipping of the
article (or other thing) you found about the success story. Add a few sentences of text next to the screen clipping that describe the success story.
• Next, think about your favorite social media application and the feature of it you think is most useful in business. If you need help coming up with an idea, I suggest searching for “useful social media features in business”.• Insert a blank slide in your slideshow. Grab a screen clipping of the feature you think
is most useful in business. Add a few sentences of text next to the screen clipping that describe the feature.
• There should be a total of 2 slides in the PowerPoint slideshow.• Save it, close it, and email it to yourself as a backup.• Share the two slides with the class on Tuesday, March 14 (after spring break). Sharing will
be done seated at your computer (I am able to put the content of your screen on the projector). We will have about 10 minutes on Tuesday, March 14 to prepare for sharing.
