PREAMBLE For this Beach Soccer Season 2015, BSWW has established a World Ranking taking into account all the panorama of Beach Soccer events and competitions. The basis of the BSWW World Ranking takes into consideration many aspects and factors observed by the FIFA/Coca-Cola Men’s World Ranking. The weighting of the BSWW World Ranking follows a points-per-event system, where the position occupied in the standings of every event awards a determined amount of points to the given national team. There are 6 (six) types of categorized events, ordered from highest to lowest in points:
1. FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2. FBSWC – Confederation Qualifier 3. Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup (new category as of January 2015) 4. Continental Beach Soccer League 5. Continental Beach Soccer Cups & Games 6. BSWW Tours: BSWW Tour (Category 1)
BSWW Tour (Category 2) 7. Friendly Matches (new points’ distribution as of January 2015)
The following information explains and develops the criteria and point weight given to each of the mentioned categories. 1. ASSESSMENT PERIODS OCT 2011 – SEP 2015:
The BSWW World Ranking will consider last 4 years starting from Sep 2015 (Oct 2011-Sep 2015) in order to draw a more updated picture of the beach soccer standings, one that reflects a clearer reality of the sport. The period assessed meets a gradual decrease of the points weighting. Thus, the value of each year is 25% lower than the previous:
□ October 2011 – September 2012; Year value: 25% □ October 2012 – September 2013; Year value: 50% □ October 2013 – September 2014; Year value: 75% □ October 2014 – September 2015; Year value: 100%
The ranking will be updated and published monthly.

2. WEIGHTING FACTOR - CONFEDERATION QUALIFIERS
The weighting factor for the Confederations Qualifier is determined on the basis of the last 3 (three) FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup final competitions. The following calculation steps, which are described in the table below, apply:
a) Interconfederation1 Matches at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups Final Competition b) Win = 1 point // Win at AET or PSO = 0,5 c) Average per Game: WINS/TOTAL GAMES d) Average per Game during the last 3 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups Competitions:
Av. 2009-13 = (Av.2009 + Av.2011 + Av.2013) / 3 e) The confederation weighting value ("Weight") is calculated in relation to the BEST
confederation weighting value. Weight = √(√(Av.2009-13x / BEST Av.2009-13))
f) If WEIGHT ≤ 0,85, the weighting value assigned will be = 0,85

3. POINTS DISTRIBUTION CRITERIA 2015 FIFA BEACH SOCCER WORLD CUP
The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup is presented as the most valuable competition. The first consideration about the points’ distribution is to stipulate the difference between those teams that qualified in each Round. As shown in the table below, the points’ distribution from the 1st to the 16th Place follows a straight degradation from 1750 points to 60 points and segmented per round: Group Phase, Quarter-finals and Semi-finals, where the Champion of the FBSWC gets 1750 points and the four lowest-ranked national teams get 60 points.

FBSWC – CONFEDERATION QUALIFIER The weighting factor of each confederation is the result of the performance of the National Sides of the given confederation in the last three FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups. As shown below, the points distribution for each FBSWC – Confederation Qualifier varies depending on the weighting factor of the given Confederation (refer to Title 2. Weighting Factor)
NOTE: Due to the fact that the host country doesn’t play the Confederation Qualifier for the World Cup, the amount of points awarded to the team is the result of the average points achieved in the last 3 (three) Confederation Qualifiers the team took part in.
