Important Instructionsa. Each academic year shall be apportioned into two regular semesters and one auxiliary
semester.
b. The two regular semesters will have regular courses of study and examination as per theteaching and examination scheme of academic programme.
c. The auxiliary semester shall be used for organizing special need-based short-term add-oncourses for the benefit the students of the College besides outsiders who may enroll for
them. The Regulations as announced from time to time with the approval of BoM on the
recommendation of AC will also apply to these add-on courses. The same duration shall be
used to conduct supplementary examinations for the students who have not cleared the
Subject/Paper(s).
d. The academic break-up of the regular semesters devoted to instructional work shall be asbelow:
Imparting of instructions and/or lab. work - 17 Weeks (with 2 CIAs)
Preparatory Leave - 01 WeekESE - 03 Weeks
e. A detailed division of an Academic Year into semesters is as follows.Odd Semester 21 Weeks

R19. ATTENDANCE All the students are expected to be present in every lecture, tutorial, practical, scheduled for
them. Attendance will be closely monitored during a semester as per the guidelines.
A student must have a minimum attendance of 75% of the total number of classes includinglectures, tutorials and practicals, held in a Subject/Paper before the corresponding
examination i.e. CIA-I, CIA-II and ESE in order to be eligible to appear for the respective
examination in the Subject/Paper.
A student has to apply for leave on medical grounds to the Principal and such applicationshall be accompanied with a medical certificate from a registered medical practitioner and
endorsed by parents or guardian.
The NCC/NSS cadets sent out for parades and camps and such students who are deputed bythe College to take part in games, athletic, cultural or academic activities may be forpurposes of attendance, be treated as present for the days of their absence in connection
with the aforesaid activities and that period shall be added to their subject/paper wise
attendance.
Condonation of Attendance: In exceptional cases the Principal may condone the shortageof attendance to the extent of 15%. The shortage of attendance shall not be condoned more
than two times during the entire Programme.
Language:Except Pharmacy discipline where the language of question paper shall be English only, all UG
theory examinations the question papers (printed, written or typed) shall be set in Hindi and
English. Papers of language shall be set and answered in the respective languages. For all non-

language papers student are permitted to answer either in English or Hindi. For Pharmacy
discipline the mode of answering shall be English only.
R21. ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION
At least two CIAs will be conducted for all programmes. All written CIAs shall be of onehour duration.
I CIA for shall be written test but II CIA may be written test, online test, home workassignment, problem solving, group discussions, quiz, seminar, mini-project, surprise test
etc.
Internal Assessment of laboratory courses shall be based on continuous supervision ofstudents work, his/her performance in viva-voce, quality of work, laboratory file, practical
test etc.
There shall be no Back-Paper appearance in CIA Examinations. However special provisioncan be made for the candidates who fail to appear in the CIA Examinations under
unavoidable circumstances. Defaulting candidate may apply to the Principal stating the
reason for his/her non-appearance in the CIA. If the reasons stated are convincing andgenuine as to the satisfaction of the Principal a special Make-up examination may be
conducted for him/her under the order of the Principal. Such facility will be extended only
once to a student per Semester.
There shall be provision for improvement in CIAs. A student who has appeared in tworegular CIAs and wants to improve his/her marks in CIAs, can appear in improvement CIA
by applying in prescribed form and paying prescribed fee as decided by Competent
Authority.
The language for all PG examinations will be English only. The pattern of question paper (other than Pharmacy Courses) shall be as shown below.There will be five units in each theory paper. The theory question paper pattern and distribution
of marks to the questions shall be as given below
Section A - 5 questions 4 mark each = 20 (One from each unit, No Choice)
Section B - 5 questions 12 marks each = 60 (One from each unit, Unit wise Choice)
