SCOPE INDIA
COPE INDIA (Society for Community Organization and People's SEmpowerment) is an initiative of development professionals who resolved to
work for the integrated development of the downtrodden people on the basis of
principles of the FATHER of the nation Gandhiji. It is a non-profit voluntary
organization (earlier known as SATHIYAM SAHAYAM TRUST meaning “Truth
Sharing Trust”) working for the welfare of differently abled and deprived people
with the mission of organizing them for peace and holistic development. It was
established in 1992 at Devadanapatti in Theni district registered under Trust Act.
During the beginning years, it strived to strengthen Community Based
Organizations through its Resource and Research Centre (CBOs' R & R Centre) in
collaboration with the Rural Technology Centre of Gandhigram Rural University
giving guidance to the organizations that work for community development.
Recently, Scope India has reconstituted itself to incorporate an eminent board of
directors comprising of experienced development professionals in community
development through Alternative Livelihood Centre for deprived and disabled
people at Cuddalore in its own training centre.
