CHRISTMAS DOORSTEP CHALLENGE IS ON!
Imagine how many Christmases could be brightened by a simple gesture!
Pick someone who has had a tough time or would simply benefit from some festive goodwill. It does not have to be someone you know well.
Choose a gift-big or small.
Write them an anonymous note, some kind words about why you were thinking of them.
Knock on the door and leg it—make sure they don’t see you.
Feel happy knowing you have spread some Christmas cheer with not expectations of anything in return. Judy Hart

JEFFERSON COUNTY LIBRARY
Presents on December 7, 6:30 PM
Seattle Opera Preview: La traviata
Opera comes to the library in this Seat-tle Opera preview performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s La traviata. La travi-ata is a passionate portrait of a worldly courtesan forced by bourgeois society to give up the man of her dreams and features one of the most emotional scores in opera. This preview is more than a lecture—it provides an experi-ence featuring professional singers and an accompanist in an hour-long presen-tation. The full opera performance will run January 14-28th in Seattle.

Cranberry Christmas Cake 3 eggs 2 cups sugar
3/4 cup butter, softened 1 tsp. vanilla
2 C all-purpose flour
12 oz. fresh cranberries
Preheat oven to 350. With a mixer, beat eggs & sugar until slightly thickened & light in color, about 5-7 min. The mixture should almost dou-ble in size. The eggs work as your leavening agent in this recipe, so do not skip this step. This mixture should form a ribbon when you lift the beaters out of the bowl. Add butter & vanilla, mix 2 more minutes. Stir in flour until just com-bined. Add cranberries & stir to mix thoroughly. Spread in buttered 9 x 13 pan. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until lightly browned & toothpick in-serted near the center. (Judy Hart baked hers for 43 minutes). Let completely cool before cutting into 1”x2” so they can be easily eaten at a party.
