BREEAM In-Use is an online, international, environmental assessment methodology for independent, third-party assessment and certification of a building’s operational performance. This collection of statistics provides a snap shot of the assets certified to BREEAM In-Use based on asset location, building type and age.

BREEAM In-Use FactFile 2017
The BREEAM In-Use International standard is applied internationally. A common set of questions allows for the comparison of assets with regardless of location. In countries where BRE is affiliated with an International Partner, a locally adapted version of BREEAM In-Use is available.
Assets located in over 30 countries worldwide are certified against BREEAM In-Use International.
Overall assessment ratings by Part: Asset Performance (Part 1), Building Management (Part 2), Occupier Management (Part 3)
Environmental category scores: Nine environmental categories across all three assessment parts
The flexibility of the BREEAM In-Use International scheme allows for assessments of all types of buildings and assets. Any non-domestic asset can be assessed leading to a vast range of certified assets, across different industry sectors.

Figures quoted in this document are based on January 2017 data, except for floor area data which is 21st February 2017 and based on GIA – gross internal floor area. The survey of users was conducted in December 2016 and is based on responses from 92 users.
