The chill of winter slowly fades and youth everywhere wait for Spring Break with tangible eagerness. While out of school, many of them may stay at home or participate in programs like TSA’s Boys & Girls Club Spring Break Day Camp. Either way, it is important for us to consider how our youth are spending their free time at home. Are they doing something positive, productive, and engaging? Are they mostly alone, or are they interacting with family members? In today’s world, many youth are left to fend for themselves at home while busy parents are out or working. While building relationships and socializing outside of home is important, it is no secret that everything—knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values—starts with what happens at home. Parents have the responsibility to instruct their children in God's word by example and direct teaching. A home which fosters family time, responsibilities, joy, and Jesus is a home which grows happy and productive youth. ~Cara Bierschwale, BGC Director
