TAPPA 11 BORGO VALSUGANA

CISMON DEL GRAPPA

Km 32 +150 –300 E

To continue our pilgrimage from Borgo Valsugana we have now a choice of two routes: to continue on the Via Claudia Augusta, taking the way to Telve (SP110), then SP31 to Carzano, via Mulino, passed the bridge on the trorrent, to the right to Scurelle, then Strigno. Out of Strigno we take the SP78 and at Villa Agnedo, at the crossing with Via Ortigara, we take to the left to return on the cycling lane. Otherwise from the centre of Borgo we shall take the cycling lane, which will take us straight to Villa Agnedo. We recommend this route because of its light traffic.

, which will take us straight to Villa Agnedo

5

We cross a torrent and continue along the cycling lane up to Ospedaletto where we cross the River Brenta again,

turning right

6

and immediately left we continue along a little road, paved but with no traffic, which follows the foothills of the lofty mountains

towering on our right; after a little more than 2 km we return to the cycling lane on the bank of the river. Continuing our walk

through a woodland we come to a picnic area with spring water before we enter the village of Selva.

7

We carry on for a further 3 km, leaving behind the nature reserve of Fontanazzo and we come to a roundabout.

Instead of going straight ahead, we think better to turn left, cross the river, the motorway and railway to reach

Grigno

8

and cross the torrent, also called Grigno, after the village and climb along the footpath running on the edge of a

First World War trench called “Trincerone” (Great Trench).

9

At the end of the footpath we continue to walk along the river up to the bridge which will take us back on the

cycling lane. Continuing along the lane at the foothills, on the right bank of the Brenta, we pass the localities of

Filippi, Masi Orné

10

and Tezze and finally Martincelli, over the river, this is the last village of Trentino Alto Adige.

11

We now enter the Veneto. We carry on for 3 km along the river, through a thick wood up to a road junction

leading to Enego and to the Asiago Plateau.

12

Following now the road signs for Primolano. From the centre of Primolano we shall return on our steps. We cross

the bypass to return to the cycling lane, after having crossed the railway, the junction with State Highway SS47

and crossed the river.

13

Two km on the narrower part of the Valsugana. The cycling lane runs between the rock and the river

Brenta,

14

then it widens a little, and 1,5 km on, in front of a bridge, we find the refreshments point of Cornale

15

Two km on we will find a suspension bridge and we cross the Brenta and arrive in Cismon where we may

visit the sanctuary of Our Lady of Pedancino.
