6. Take the cake out of the oven, remove
from the cake pan and allow to cool on
a cake rack. (if you don’t have a cake
rack you can use a cold over rack)
*** To make a chocolate frosting:
In a small bowl add 3 or 4 tablespoons of
icing sugar with 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of
coco powder and a small amount of water.
Stir together until mixed, if it is too runny just
add more icing sugar until it thickens.
Pour over the top of the cake and use a
knife or spatula to spread evenly over the
cake.
Allow it some time to set.
TIP:
How to dust a cake pan
If you are not using a non-stick pan you will need to dust the pan
with flour.
Using paper towel or baking paper wipe a small amount of
margarine on the base and sides of the pan (make sure it is fully
covered with a very thin layer).
If you have baking paper, cut a circle to fit the base of the pan.
Pour a small amount of flour into the pan an move it around the
sides (and base if not using paper). Make sure there is a thin
dusty coating and tip the excess flour out.
