From the Commander
Greetings!
I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas
and safely came through the holiday travels.
Thank you to Geri Brown and Ron Karm for
decorating the Post canteen for the Christmas
season. Geri decorated the Christmas tree, and
together, Ron and Geri decorated the canteen
ceiling. The December Post meeting had to be
cancelled because of icy weather. Therefore,
the presentation of awards for the Patriot Pen
and Voice of Democracy winners will be
made at a later Post meeting.
The Post is still in need of kitchen volunteers
for Hamburger Night and Taco Night. And we
are still in need of volunteers to become
Honor Guard members. Any VFW Post 2503
member who would like to join the Post Hon-
or and Color Guard, please contact Tom
Penke at 402-330-6860.
Finally, it is my wish that all of you have a
very Happy and Healthy New Year!

Meeting
2nd Thursday

7:00 pm
From the Auxiliary President
Hello Auxiliary Members,
I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Santa
brought all that they wished for and had a safe and
Happy New Year. The children’s Christmas was
fun; Santa came and passed out presents for all the
Kids. I would like to thank Jerry Ludwig for play-
ing Santa and Theresa Albright and Mardel
Lugwig for their helping and, of course, the
Youth Chairman Karen Cox.
We are on the downhill as far as the programs we
have to do, so chairmen, if you haven’t reported
to your Department chairman, please do and
make sure you give me a copy of your report.
A REMINDER: If you know of anyone that
hasn’t paid their dues, please remind
them they are due before December 31st
in order to be a member in good
standing. As for as membership goes, we are currently at
93.79 %, we need only 28 more members to make
100%.
Please read the article in the Auxiliary Magazine
this month. The 2017 Legislative victories and
Auxiliaries are influencing their decisions that af-
fect Veterans and their families. That is why we
are part of the VFW Auxiliary. This article is very
informing in letting us know, as Auxiliary mem-
bers, exactly what is going on in the Legislative,
pertaining to, as I said before, our Veterans and
their families.
The new Podium Edition by-laws and Ritual for
2018 are out for order.

AUXILIARY MEMBERS!
If you have any news regarding an Auxiliary
member’s illness or death, please notify the Auxiliary
Chaplain, Nora Van Cleave at 402-571-5213
OR Lynn Krause at 402-553-7562. Thank you.
From the Auxiliary President
—continued from page 1—
This Manual explains Programs we do,
how the Auxiliary works, and helpful in-
formation on Auxiliaries, on all levels from
Post level to National level. It also explains
the duties of all officers. It is really a help-
ful source of information. You can order
the Podium Edition by-laws and Ritual for
2018 either from National Supply or let our
Auxiliary Treasurer know, the cost is $8.25
plus mailing and handling.
Again I am reminding all of you, we the Auxiliary are looking for
officers and new members for the incoming year. Be a part of this
amazing organization, and be involved in the rewarding work we do
for our Veterans. Our Veterans didn’t let us down when they were
called to duty to defend our country to keep us free. So let’s not let
them down. Let’s become active members of the the Auxiliary and
keep fighting for their rights as our Veterans.
Remember if we have no officers, the Auxiliary will have to close
down. So please let’s not let our Veterans down.
Loyally submitted,
Lynn Krause
