1. From the Hierarchy Management menu, select MDS License Management

2. Select the level of the hierarchy to allocate licenses

3. Type in the number of licenses to allocate to that level and then click Allocate

Option 2: An Admin at each level of the hierarchy can allocate licenses down one level to the next lowest level

1. As the top level admin, from the Hierarchy Management menu, select MDS License Management

2. Select the top level of the hierarchy

3. Type in the number of licenses to allocate to that level and then click Allocate

4. The admin at the next level down in the hierarchy can then log in and allocate licenses to the next level down.

Option 2 continued:

• Admin at the next lowest level in the hierarchy can then distribute licenses that were allocated to them:

Example: Of the 6 licenses allocated to this District from the top/root admin, the district admin can then distribute those to the schools in the district as needed

Once licenses have been allocated to the school, the school admin can then allocate licenses down to the class level if needed.

Once licenses have been assigned to the level where they are needed, those licenses need to be assigned to the individual users.

To assign an MDS license to an individual user:

1. Under the Staff menu, select Mobile Data Solution:

2. Select the hierarchy level on the left; then from the list of staff on the right, put a check by the name(s) of the staff who are to be assigned a license

3. Scroll down and select Full or Screener 4. Click Activate

5. The name of the user will move to the Windows Solution Users area 6. The assigned user can now download/install the Mobile Data Solution on the

laptop where the MDS will be used

Purchase of MDS licenses

MDS licenses can now be distributed by Riverside’s Customer Service team to the level where they were purchased.

Example: If licenses are purchased at the school level, the licenses can be placed there and then distributed from there by the admin at that hierarchy level.

It is recommended that a user at each level of the hierarchy be assigned this administrative privilege of managing ERF/MDS licenses
